ZATCA e-invoicing: a simple checklist for retailers
Phase 2 of ZATCA e-invoicing (Fatoora) requires invoices to be generated, signed and reported in a specific format. Here is the short version.
The essentials
- Issue invoices in the required XML/PDF-A3 format
- Embed a ZATCA-compliant QR code (TLV, base64)
- Include the seller VAT number, timestamp and totals
- Integrate with the ZATCA platform for clearance/reporting
Make it automatic
The right system does this in the background. Every sale produces a compliant invoice with the QR code already on the receipt — your cashier doesn't change a thing.
Compliance shouldn't slow you down. When it's built in, it simply happens.
